“an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” Ben Franklin.

Modern medical knowledge clearly shows that there is a gender disparity in life expectancy, morbidity, disability and health risk behavior. Men live shorter lifespans than women and die more often of 12 of the 15 most common Arnold C. Cinman, MD, FACScauses of death than women. They also get ill and disabled earlier in life than women.

This knowledge calls for the ideal Urology Practices to pay gender specific attention to issues of Men’s Health, although in actual practice dedicated attention to male health is lacking and almost absent. While many institutions have women’s health clinics and programs, there are only a handful of men’s health clinics in the U.S.

The scope of men’s health was introduced from a number of different perspectives and specialties, namely cardiology, endocrinology and family practice. Other important areas include diet, exercise, and psychological well-being.

Tower Urology will be represented by Arnold Cinman, MD at the 2013 Men’s Health World Congress in December 6 – 8, 2013 in Arlington, VA.

This unique, three-day program will present a full scientific and educational program—including plenary sessions, didactic courses, poster sessions and roundtable discussions—and explore an array of topics critical to men’s health, including:

  • new advances in early and late stages of prostate cancer
  • cardiovascular disease
  • hypogonadism
  • infertility
  • endocrinology
  • psychiatry
  • and more

Tower Urology is in a unique position to provide this service to our patient population. We will be establishing a unique Men’s Health Clinic to address these unmet needs. Areas to be addressed include young man’s sexuality, fertility issues, sexually transmitted disease, and dietary factors in disease states, obesity and cancer prevention.
