I have been suffering from Testicular pain for the past 3.2 years, and it has been a challenging journey. If I do certain activities like long walks, lifting weights and sex triggers or worsen my testicular pain. The pain was intense enough to significantly impact my daily activities. Pain forces me to rest for 1 to 2 days and applying the Ice packs frequently. I finally met Dr. Justin Houman, who has truly been my life saver. I recently underwent Microsurgical Spermatic Cord Denervation and Varicocelectomies Surgery with Dr. Justice Houman and I noticed a significant reduction in my chronic testicular pain, which has greatly improved my quality of life. I have gradually resumed activities like long walks, lifting weights, sexual activity and I am experiencing only very minimal testicular pain, which doesn’t affect my daily activities. Dr.Josephson was an Answer to many prayers! I recently had surgery in Bakersfield with urologist who is past his prime. I couldn't get help after my TURP surgery. For 3 months (90 days) I was in great discomfort, unable to urinate without extreme pain. 40 times a day,wanting to cry ! My Bakersfield urologist said there was NOTHING he could do to help me. How did a woman with a lifetime of recurrent bladder infections wind up with a urologist whose specialty is male fertility? It happened like this...Dr. Houman was recommended to my husband when he began having the prostate problems that can devastate older men. Dr. Houman solved his urinary difficulties, and I'm convinced, kept him from the fate of a constant catheter. Naturally, I jumped at the chance to be his patient, and have been, for the first time in my life, free for several months of any infections. But the best part of being Dr. Houman's patient is this. Dr. Josephson is taking very good care of me and my prostate cancer. He impressed me with his skill during a prostate biopsy. It mwas absent the pain and heavy bleeding that is typical of the procedure. He handled the prep for radiation with skill and care and referred me to a superb oncology group 5 minutes from where I live in Santa Monica. His oncology colleagues made me comfortable and anxiety free throughout the 6 weeks of radiation. The results received today were gratifying: .The follow-up PSA showed that the marker prostate-specific antigen was “undetectable,” meaning the cancer was no longer present. I was relieved and grateful. The positive reviews are confirmed. Dr. Josephson has earned my confidence and loyalty.

I'm 71 years of age, suffered years with kidney stones -- and I don't even eat all that much red meat or salty processed foods! -- I could not understand why. Finally saw Dr. Josephson in 2018. He quickly diagnosed a chemical imbalance, prescribed the proper natural med and vouila! I haven't had a stone since. Likewise, Dr. J performed the minimally-invasive Rezum steam procedure for my BPH. Virtually painless, and I was cured before I could thank him. Dr. J is the BEST.

Dr. Bui is a prostate surgeon rock star. He is at the top of the field. When I was diagnosed with a Gleason 8 at age 71, my wife and I interviewed several surgeons and chose Dr. Bui (even though he was out of network) because of the number of these surgeries he has performed, and his extraordinary success rate. Dr. Bui provided an exceptional level of care and communication. He spared my nerves to avoid erectile issues and dealt with my extremely enlarged prostate. Recovery was relatively easy. Eight months later I have no detectable PSA, no problems with sex, and had only occasional very minor issues with incontinence which have now resolved. I am thrilled with the treatment and care I received from Dr. Bui and cannot recommend him highly enough.

The staff there is extremely friendly through the who visit from beginning to end. Dr. Houman is an amazing and very humanitarian person who helped me with a problem no other hospital nor doctor was willing to help me with. I watched his some of videos before making an appointment with him. During the appointment he is very knowledgeable in the field with understanding my issue when I explained it to him and finding a possible treatment for it. I would recommend him to everyone not only for how kind he is but also how extremely knowledgeable and confident in his field and procedures.

The receptionist service has improved since my one-star review 9 months ago. A few of them still need to improve their tone of voice and patience, especially with the elderly. I've been wanting to post a review for Dr. David Josephson for a little while but needed some time to process everything. I recently had a robotic surgery to remove a very large and painful kidney stone. All I can say is, I was in pain every day, my stress level was very high and my quality of life was not good. Once Dr. Josephson performed the surgery, my life changed immeasurably. I feel like a new person. All the pain is gone and I am able to do all the things I was once able to do before I had the stone. My overall wellbeing has improved immensely as well. I am extremely grateful to have met this incredible doctor. I called him my Captain Kirk. If there was a ever a "Star" for a 5-star review Dr. Houman is the one. After having two problematic prosthesis surgeries as a young(er) man that left me very functional but in constant pain and walking with a cane, I knew the device life expectancy was near and feared the next. The choice between Dr. Houman or back to the VA was easy considering his credentials and reputation; neither were understated. He instantly settled my previous surgical ptsd with his infectious positive attitude and reassuring explanation of improved science. His surgical skill and gut-decision removed a decade-old serious issue that is said to be difficult at best by even the top surgeons...this is life changing for me! Recovery was quick, pain was minimal and the results are so overwhelmingly positive that words alone cannot express my joy. With a warm smile and terrific bedside manner, after care follow-up's is like visiting an old friend. Sometimes destiny just finds the right person for the path.

Did this really happen? I am really cured? I was told, not so long ago, that people with the same cancer I had on my kidney would require surgery involving a large incision in the abdomen to get to the cancer and that one could expect to stay in the hospital for days or more. However, due to new technology and the amazing surgeon, Dr. David Josephson, I entered the hospital at noon, had my cancer removed, and walked out the same afternoon with no pain and no scars to speak of. I went immediately to eat my favorite meal and then went home to find my garden was overflowing with water. Without thinking about it, I grabbed a bucket and proceeded to clear the excess water and then moved on to do some other chores. When I stopped, I recalled that I just had kidney surgery, which I nearly forgot about, as if nothing ever happened to me. My deepest gratitude and appreciation go to Dr. Josephson, who not only made my necessary surgery painless and nearly invisible but who also removed all the kidney cancer so that no further treatment was necessary.

Dr. Josephson is a kind and caring doctor and an excellent surgeon. My dad was hesitant, scared, and confused when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Dr. Josephson sat with him for over an hour in the office to explain the procedure, the benefits, the possible complications, and also went over all the alternative treatment options. He then personalized my dad's appointment by sharing a personal story with him. Before the surgery, he came out and introduced himself to us, and he and his staff kept my mom and I updated throughout the surgery. Communication with him was excellent even after we left the hospital. He personally called my dad and myself to relay the pathology report. He listened to my dad, provided him with exceptional care. He is sincerely a wonderful physician and surgeon. As a physician myself, I can say that it is not easy to find not only an excellent surgeon, but one that has such great bedside manner. I had prostate cancer in 2005. Dr Josephson was excellent. He was patient, kind and understanding. He helped me alot. Great doctor! Dr Josephson did the surgery and thanks be to God I am still cancer free.
From my experience with Dr Josephson, in my own bout with prostate cancer: 1. He excels in getting you the max info. about your condition, and options. 2. He advocates (works with insurance issues) for the path of treatment you want. 3. The results of his surgical work are exceptionally better than statistical norms. In my case, I have a family history and genetic confirmation of predisposition to cancer, so the moment my PSA numbers began to move upward, I wanted to be pro-active. A specialist at a cancer hospital said, based on one test, that I should "wait and watch" based on current medical standards of care. Dr Josephson did a couple of additional test confirming the presence of cancer, advised of risks and mitigation of alternative courses of action, and, notwithstanding standard practices, pursued my desire to proactively respond to my risks. Having researched outcome statistics, the results of his surgical work greatly exceeded expectations. I spent my life knowing cancer was "coming". Now I'm thanking God each day for the work of Dr Josephson and knowing it's "gone".
The best in the business. I underwent a robotic prostatectomy at Tarzana Hospital on October 28, 2020. Operation a smooth success, all cancer is gone and confirmed by bone scan, pet scan, then six week post operation blood test/PSA. I was on the tennis court 2 1/2 weeks after the procedure, but that may have been pushing it a little. I have friends who had the same procedure from other doctors, and the results do not compare. Bless you Dr., and thanks for the next phase of my life.
As with many aging men, my prostate grew and in time it choked my urine flow such that my bladder filled and backed up into my kidney making for a series of infections. I came to Dr. Josephson with some anxiety after feeling rushed by my previous urologist. Surgery is serious stuff, so I asked around...
