It happened like this...Dr. Houman was recommended to my husband when he began having the prostate problems that can devastate older men. Dr. Houman solved his urinary difficulties, and I'm convinced, kept him from the fate of a constant catheter.
Naturally, I jumped at the chance to be his patient, and have been, for the first time in my life, free for several months of any infections.

I've been working with Dr. Houman for a few months now after a complication from a surgery. I was referred to Dr. Houman and he assured me that we would get the issue resolved. At 73, I had major spinal surgery at Cedars Sanai in July of this year and the vascular surgeon who was opening me up pulled some scar tissue and tore a hole in my ureter. Never had as Great a Doctor as Dr. Houman! Not only was he Perfect at his Craft, also he's an unpretentious and easy-going Doctor who always made me feel comfortable! Dr. Houman is truly outstanding. Dr. Houman in Beverly Hills, is a step above any other doctor I?ve dealt with in Los Angeles, New York, or DC. After multiple failed attempts of finding an Urologist I could trust in Santa Clarita - closer to home - I began looking elsewhere. Dr. Houman had exceptional reviews online and I decided to switch Urologists and brave the traffic over to Cedars for his care.
Dr. Houman is sincere and intentional with the care of his patients e.g. follow up phone calls, texts, emails etc. He is collaborative in his approach - educating you along the way - and provides clarity with his goals for your health. Dr.Josephson was an Answer to many prayers! I recently had surgery in Bakersfield
with urologist who is past his prime.
I couldn't get help after my TURP surgery.
For 3 months (90 days) I was in great discomfort, unable to urinate without extreme pain. 40 times a day,wanting to cry !
My Bakersfield urologist said there was NOTHING he could do to help me. A friend sent me to Dr. Josephine. I prayed for a miracle and Dr. Josephson kindly obliged.
No further surgery was needed! Dr.Josephson took the "time" to examine me and found the issue immediately and I left his office as happy a child !!

I?m redoing my review because something went wrong when I pasted it and copied my initial review.
I have never in my life thought or said that a doctor saved my life until I met Dr. Kuhlmann. I came to her in a complete medical crisis. I have been suffering from chronic UTIs and vaginal infections that were seemingly resistant to treatment with antibiotics. I have a high pain tolerance but the pain I was experiencing was off the charts
Her office staff and assistants were very friendly. When she came in, she immediately put me at ease, she was friendly and very personable. It was the end of the day and I?m sure she wanted to go home as quick as possible, but she was not leaving that room until she found out and knew exactly what was wrong with me. She ran every test and procedure that she could, sat and listened to my entire history, which was a lot and everything else I had to say. I have never felt so listened and understood so much in my life. As soon as I was done, telling her everything I had been going through and my history, she knew exactly what was wrong with me. She diagnosed me with pelvic floor dysfunction. I have a long hard journey ahead of me, but she put me in the exact direction I needed to be with medication, supplements, and physical therapy.
I truly saw no way out of the nightmare. I was living in with my health and she put me on the path to help me recover and I?m eternally thankful.
I also want to add that trying to find new doctors many of them know who doctor Kuhlmann is and their face always lights up with a smile when I mention her name. That just speaks volumes.

One thing: since Urology has to do with a patient's private parts, most of the patients, assuming they are sentient, are self-conscious. When your place is busy the waiting room is "cheek by jowl". Rubbing elbows is fine in a bar, but not so much with folks at the Urologist. This is not a reflection on your fine medical care.

The procedure room, was very cramped, and the privacy curtain had betadine stains on it. As the MA moved around the tight space I could see how the betadine stains got on the curtain.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Josephson! For me, Dr. Josephson has been a miracle worker and nothing less. I saw two local Urologists in Bakersfield, California. The first was very rough in handling my body and embarrassed me by having young trainees going through some sort of training program. I had no idea that they weren't nurses, just young women watching me get my first catheterization examination, which was shocking and extremely uncomfortable and painful.
I was appalled that these young women watched my procedure without my consent. The second Urologist told me I needed a TURP surgery which may not have been the whole truth. He performed the surgery and left me in a worse condition than when I first came to ask for help. He later told me there was nothing more he could do for me. I bled for almost 3 months, couldn't urinate, and when I did urinate, didnt have complete bladder control. He too was a rude and insensitive doctor who refused to give me my medical charts to seek a second opinion.
My employer suggested I go see Dr. Josephson. In my first visit, Dr. Josephson found the problem and healed me in his office that day! I have been pain-free every day since!

Since I met Dr Bui in 2009 and he diagnosed right away and cured a cancer, and he also diagnosed another benign condition, I saw him every 3 to 6 months. Dr. Cinman is a GREAT doctor. I would recommend him wholeheartedly. Dr. Houman, on the other hand, is not someone I would recommend. He promises more than he delivers, does not provide proper information before a procedure or recommending a treatment, and seems more concerned with building his practice. As far as Tower Urology itself, it is one of the worst medical offices I have encountered. They're extremely poor in returning phone calls, providing answers, making appointments, etc. Rarely, if ever, have I gotten anything but a voicemail when connected with a specific doctor's office. The problem was so bad last year, that I requested to speak to the office manager. I left her a total of 5 messages over a period of over a month -- NONE of which were ever returned. (When I brought this to light, I was told, "She's very busy.")

I really like and trust Dr. Sacks. I've seen him three times, the first time for a preliminary appointment, followed the next day with a Uro-Nav fusion prostate biopsy and the third time for a follow-up three months later. He calls me personally with information and test results and leaves a message if I can't answer. I appreciate that, as it avoids phone tag. The biopsy found a very small, early stage cancer, which I suppose could have been missed in a standard biopsy. Dr. Sacks is calm and reassuring with his analysis and recommendations, and he also stands firm with his knowledge and experience. He's willing to listen and answer my questions, and Cynthia has been helpful as well. Even though I had been given the wrong antibiotic prescription in Las Vegas for the biopsy, they were able to give me some Ceftin tablets in the office, as well as a new prescription, so I could start immediately and continue through the procedure and the next several days. It would have been very inconvenient for me to reschedule everything, as I had a lot going on in my life at the time. My next follow-up appointment with Dr. Sacks is October 13, and I would like to keep seeing him regularly.

I had occasion to seek Dr. Sacks' treatment for urological issues in the 1970s. And so a few years ago, when the urologist I was seeing retired, i knew exactly which MD I wanted to return to. Dr. Sacks is obviously learned in his ability to diagnose urological issues. As his patient, I have no doubt that I can trust his judgement and advice. In fact, his judgement recently meant that a cancer in my seminal vesicle could be surgically removed! The fact that he is kind and allows me as his patient to take as much time as I need to explain my issue is a real plus for me. I would also like to commend his nurse Anne and CNA Melvin for their assistance in caring for my well-being.

You need new administrator. There’s no welcoming environment. I remember your lady “in charge”. She’s so classically dressed n I hope her administrative leadership is also classy. Instead; it’s - unclean - unkept- medical place. Looks like a low class clinic. Sorry.
