with urologist who is past his prime.
I couldn't get help after my TURP surgery.
For 3 months (90 days) I was in great discomfort, unable to urinate without extreme pain. 40 times a day,wanting to cry !
My Bakersfield urologist said there was NOTHING he could do to help me. A friend sent me to Dr. Josephine. I prayed for a miracle and Dr. Josephson kindly obliged.
No further surgery was needed! Dr.Josephson took the "time" to examine me and found the issue immediately and I left his office as happy a child !!

I was also prescribed a new medication recently, without any type of conversation as to how long I would be on it or if there were any side effects. The expertise and care is a real confidence-boost: Dr. Josephson is really great in clearly explaining results, course of treatment options, etc.
The only thing I'd ask is that I not have to follow-up myself to get lab results. I realize the protocol is "we'll contact you if there's anything to discuss..." but since there are times that the results have just been dropped when they should have been communicated, it's just not as trustworthy to assume "no news is good news."
Also, isn't it possible to use an EMR system that actually integrates with others?

I was disappointed the fact that after attempt to do cystoscopy that failed, they send me home bleeding that lots of pain and end up in the local Hospital with complete bladder neck blockage with the worse pain I ever
had in my entire life and a Supra Pubic Catheter was inserted. Was referred to Dr. Tavakolian for possible bladder neck reconstruction
but He wasn't comfortable doing it.

The back office staff was rude and there was no reason for her to behave that way on the phone. I tried changing my appointment with Dr Josephson and she was literally shouting over the phone. I don’t need such behavior from the staff. Only reason I came is I like Dr Josephson and he is a very good doctor and a nice person. I intend to keep seeing him. I hope the staffing gets better in the future. Sorry but I was taken aback by that person. I complained to Dr Josephson about it and when he told me about other people complaining we laughed it off.

I did a lot of research when I learned of my prostate cancer. A friend had gone to Dr. David Josephson for a successful surgery. That fact and what I read online convinced me to
become a patient at Tower Urology with Dr.Josephson.
I had started with a doctor in Santa Monica. The biopsy was quite painful and the amount of blood that followed for four days
further led me to transfer to Tower Urology. It was a good decision. The next biopsy was almost painless and bleeding was very minimal.
Some side effects did occur but I was determined to keep going. The effects tapered off as predicted and I was relieved.
Dr. Josephson is a good man and it is obvious that he cares.

Dr. David Josephson has been caring for me for quite a few years now. I wouldn't permit this to continue were he not only a very competent physician but also a nice man.
The rest of the staff are always polite and nice.
The ONLY criticism I have about Tower is that I've encountered delays when the pharmacy with which I deal needs a prescription renewal.
This often takes as long as two weeks and, occasionally, me leaving a message asking that this be attended to. I hope I'm pleasant and not acerbic when leaving this message, which shouldn't be necessary.

Dr. Josephson did not explain the results of my blood test and failed to respond to my email request. I was concerned about instances in my blood panel warning me that some results were "abnormal" and wanted an explanation as to their significance. Although there is an email address and portal to contact the doctor, he apparently doesn't respond to it. I eventually brought the blood panel to my general doctor's attention for an explanation. This is the second year in which I have had this experience and I made a point of mentioning it to the doctor when I last saw him.

The communication between the staff in the office is very poor. During my initial call, I was quoted a certain price, but then when I came to the office, I was told a different price for the consultation.
After my consultation, the scheduler did not have a nice attitude at all, and was very dismissive.
When I came to the office for my surgery, the front desk had no information regarding the fact that I had already paid for the surgery and asked me to pay again. I had to prove my payment by showing them my credit card charges on my phone because they had no record of my payment. It seems that there is a huge disconnect between staff and doctors.
